Declaring a Psychology Major
All students must use Path@Penn to declare a major. Students are encouraged to declare the Psychology major in their sophomore year, before selecting their junior-year courses.
To declare Psychology as your major, follow these 3 steps:
- 1. Meet with your pre-major advisor or a College advisor in 120 Cohen Hall to discuss your choice of major and your academic goals.
- 2. Consult with a member of the Psychology Advising Team.
- 3. In Path@Penn, go to Declare/Update Field of Study and submit your major request.
After declaring, students should carefully review the Psychology Undergraduate Handbook and major requirements. The After You Declare page provides an action plan for reviewing major requirements, planning ahead, and knowing when to contact Psychology Advising or your College advisor.
Please note that Path@Penn is not always accurate in placing courses into the Psychology major worksheet or degree audit. If you notice a discrepancy, contact the Psychology Undergraduate Advising Team.
